BCI Construction, Inc. is seeking to hire a Building Design Estimator to join our growing team and work in Minnesota. Headquartered out of Sauk Rapids, MN. BCI specializes in Commercial, Medical, and Institutional Construction. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assisting in preliminary budgets, drafting, estimating, coordination, and maintaining the Estimating system, meeting minutes, and job communication.

Skills & Abilities:

    • The ability to read, interpret, and understand construction contracts, plans, blueprints, and specifications
    • Maintain contact with customers to enhance image and customer relations.
    • Develop new areas for the future expansion of customers and products as required.
    • Work with Architects, Owners, Inspectors, and Subcontractors as required to meet specifications, code requirements, and customer needs. Attend site inspection meetings as required.
    • Prepare job schedules prior to the start of each project to complete the job on time and to specification.
    • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

    • Manage, plan, coordinate, and control all assigned projects within budget.
    • Complete all project documents and reports in an accurate, complete, and professional manner.
    • Ensure that all government and company requirements relating to safety, health, and the environment are strictly adhered to and enforced.
    • Direct and supervise activities of each project to achieve performance for quantity and quality of work. This includes on-site training, scheduling, and establishing goals and standards.
    • Promote the company image by exercising sound and ethical business practices as they relate to customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
    • Requirements:

        • A minimum of three years experience as an Estimator or Project Manager.
        • Education: High School education with trade or college construction management schooling.
        • Preferred Education: College degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering
        • Knowledge of fabrication and installation of structures to have a good understanding of customer needs and structure capabilities
        • Be proficient in business software applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, etc.)
        • A strong moral compass (as best represented by our Core Values)
