In the summer of 2023, BCI Construction, Inc. was approached by a mutual professional in the industry about American Solutions for Business (ASB) and their aspirations to reconsider their spaces.  After spending some time with a few of the employees and leaders of ASB’s organization, ASB’s commitment to their people and their community was extremely prevalent.  However, their facilities just hadn’t kept up with the demands of modern workplaces.  

 

After ASB made the commitment to remodel their beloved 31 E Minnesota building and their 102 Franklin St. building as well, we had the opportunity to participate in a unique design process and are just about to walk out of the construction of the 31 building.  The space’s natural balloon framing and rough sawn lumber is art to us trade professionals, however the project has proved to be difficult as the foundation of the facility just wasn’t deemed sound after exposing the structure.  We have utilized specialized structure and shoring practices to raise the center beam & column line while removing much of the infrastructure while carefully and judiciously remodeling the building and adorn the structure with appropriate finishes.  

 

Once completed, we will shift the ASB team to the 31 building, as well as the 107 Franklin St. building as we carefully (and expeditiously) renovate the 102 building.  It will be unique having three (3) buildings from three (3) distinct eras, yet complementary of the company, their brand, and representative of their commitment to their people and community.  We are excited to finish this project and present the masterful set of spaces.
