General Accountant

BCI Construction, Inc. is a locally-owned and growing construction company seeking a full-time General Accountant to join our team. This is a new role within the organization created due to company growth. This position will include various daily, weekly, monthly, and other periodic accounting duties.

Job Duties Include:

  • Monitor and record daily banking transactions
  • Process Accounts Receivable receipts
  • Prepare weekly Accounts Payable review and check runs
  • Process Biweekly payroll
  • Handle 401(k), Health Insurance, and other benefit transactions relating to payroll
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Record general ledger activity
  • Assist in month-end close and creation of financial statements
  • Quarterly and Annual payroll and sales tax reporting
  • Assist with year-end schedules
  • Provide backup in other areas of accounting as needed

Reporting Relationships

  • 4 year degree in accounting or 2 year degree with sufficient experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
  • Ability to maintain and process confidential information
  • Must be computer proficient and familiar with Microsoft packages
  • Strong time management skills are key to this role
  • Previous experience as a General Accountant and the construction industry is a plus but not required.
