Team Results

CentraCare had a vision of expanding their services to create a place where cancer survivors and their family members were able to connect with one another.  They envisioned a place where one could seek support, learn how to cope, overcome new challenges, and believe they can live their lives to the fullest, even after this traumatic fight against cancer.  They sought to build a center where people with unique post cancer bouts such as body transformations due to treatment, altered sensations, and altered views on life could focus on recovery, re-acclimation, and realize that new journeys can still exist.

The idea of the Coborn Healing Center was created from this vision; something that was entirely funded through philanthropic giving from members in our community.  Combining elements of the original structure, world-renowned spatial studies related to cancer recovery, and consulting with local survivors and their families, a large addition was designed.  Late in 2017, the construction began and was completed at the end of the following summer.

This is an expansion of CentraCare’s services, and in an area where population health and community wellness had not been previously served. The results have had a profound impact upon our community and BCI was privileged to lead this project on behalf of CentraCare.
