Site Superintendent

BCI Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our growing Team and work in the Central MN area. Headquartered out of Sauk Rapids, BCI specializes in Commercial, Medical, and Institutional Construction.  Superintendents oversee and manage major projects on behalf of BCI.  Superintendents are directly responsible for interpreting project plans and specifications, delivering project on time, and within budget.  They work directly alongside BCI Project Managers and Clients. 

Job Duties Include:

  • Implement, oversee, and manage site-specific Safety Plan that complies with BCI’s Safety Program
  • Ensure all Subcontractors comply with the project Safety Plan
  • Monitor quality control regarding work being performed on-site
  • Understand Plans, Specifications, and other project specific documents
  • Manage sub-contractors through sub-contracts and working relationships
  • Schedule, Direct, and Coordinate Subcontractor work and material purchases
  • Oversee all work to ensure that it complies with plans, specifications, and intent of project
  • Oversee the development and management of Project Schedule
  • Coordinate and schedule all Project Inspections
  • Oversee progress, performance, and quality of work performed on-site
  • Record and communicate Daily Progress Reports
  • Maintain a clean site
  • Responsible for review and analysis of Cost Report and Labor Hours Information
  • Complete man-power & equipment requests from Sub-Contractors and BCI Corporate office 
  • Maintain communications with the Project Management/Administration Team for project delivery
  • Inform the Project Management Team, and possibly Corporate Leadership Team, of project construction problems
  • Stay informed of codes, technology, safety requirements and practices and communicate with site team
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure satisfaction with respect to work completion and deal with complaints to their satisfaction, while not jeopardizing project profitability
  • Project Administration items may include purchase orders, project document updates or changes, schedule updates, purchase orders, RFI’s, Change Requests, or many other items
  • Verify work completed on-site with accuracy through accurate cost coding and description of work and enter in Project Administration software
  • Attend weekly monthly Site Leadership Meetings as well as Company Meetings as scheduled

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of building and Construction Management experience
  • Strong communication skills and work ethic
  • Ability to read plans & specifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • The ability to communicate with employees and other staff in English sufficiently to understand and easily be understood
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide sufficiently to figure change orders, time cards, and carpentry calculations.
  • The ability to stand, bend, lift and stoop for extended periods of time
  • The ability to manage and lead people effectively to the desired result in a fair and ethical manner
  • The ability to use various tools and equipment to assure project quality, performance, and cleanliness
  • The ability to foresee and anticipate conditions that lead to negative performances and prevent them from occurring with proper action
  • The ability to give discipline and praise in a constructive and positive manner.

Preferred:

  • PC Literate (MS Word, Project, Excel, Outlook)
  • Procore, or other Project Management Administration Software Experience
  • Construction Management Degree or Certification

Compensation & Benefits:
