Team Results
In 2023, BCI Construction was approached by a trusted industry partner to help American Solutions for Business (ASB) reimagine their workspaces. After meeting with ASB’s team, it was clear their people and community are central to their mission—but their facilities no longer supported the needs of a modern workplace. ASB committed to revitalizing their beloved 31 E. Minnesota Avenue building along with their 102 Franklin Street property, and BCI joined them in a collaborative design and planning process.
During construction on the historic 31 building, our team uncovered both the beauty and complexity of its original structure. The natural balloon framing and rough-sawn lumber showcased its historic character, yet structural concerns required specialized shoring methods to stabilize and raise the center beam and column line. Much of the infrastructure was carefully rebuilt, blending respect for the building’s craftsmanship with modern solutions and finishes.
With the 31-building stabilized, ASB staff were relocated there—as well as to the nearby 107 Franklin Street building—so renovations on the 102 building could move forward efficiently. Each structure represents a different era, yet together they now form a cohesive, refreshed workplace that reflects ASB’s brand and values. BCI is proud to help ASB reinvest in their people and community through spaces that support collaboration, growth, and long-term success.
