Sunburst Memorials decided they needed a new home to support their growing needs. Through referral and competitive RFP process, Sunburst selected BCI to construct their new headquarters through a Design Build Delivery method. They approached BCI about a vacant, 10,000 SF facility in the St. Cloud Airport District as much of the infrastructure was imperative to their success (water and power).

BCI led Sunburst through a Programmatic process identifying initial spatial requirements, identified professional service groups as well as a Lean Consultant to join the team, to create and implement a vision. Two (2) large additions were made to the facility; a 23,000+ SF manufacturing addition to the North creating a 33,000+ SF production space featuring four (4) crane ways, seven (7) cranes, and processing equipment for high stone manufacturing. To the South and west, a new corporate headquarters was added for Sunburst to regionally support their wholesale and retail clients across the USA.

The facility was designed for expansion; up to 40,000 SF to the North, along with other campus offerings for their parent company, St. Cloud Industrial Products, Inc. (SCIPI) across 15+ acres. The project emphasizes our expediency as we utilized fast-track building delivery solutions to order the Pre-Engineered Metal Building and our team approach bringing professional service providers, the Owner’s, and their collective ideas to a real project in less than 18 months from initial conversation including concept, to design, preconstruction and construction processes.
