Team Results

As part of their strategic mission to serve rural health, CentraCare has partnered with the University of Minnesota to construct the first Medical School since 1972 (Duluth) right here in Central Minnesota, at a facility owned and operated by CentraCare. The program focuses on training 24 students per year, per class, aiming to serve 96 students by 2029, along with 10% increases after that. This program aims heavily on supporting those in Greater Minnesota to live beyond our major metropolitan area supporting long term, rural vitality.

CentraCare turned to BCI Construction once again to serve them in a strategic project. With a rich history of many of CentraCare’s practices and facilities, BCI was able to address strategic logistical needs of the project and neighboring campus area while retrofitting this structure. CentraCare’s partnership with the University of Minnesota and the strategic design of HGA Architects also served as partnered leaders in the transition of this space.

The facility features everything from traditional classroom settings to live cadaver labs, and all the items in between to truly possess a medical campus feel. New mechanical systems were added to serve hoods & labs while existing structure is augmented to serve the remainder of the building. We believe CentraCare’s commitment to rural health is true stake in leadership, and we are honored to serve them.
